Dr. Stefanie Phillips
Chief Executive Officer
As Chief Executive Officer of the Chamberlin Family Foundation, Dr. Stefanie Phillips directs grantmaking and programmatic investments that support WCCUSD principals and educators, charter school quality, local leaders, and parent advocates, all in an effort to improve academic gains for the roughly 34,000 students in West Contra Costa’s K-12 public schools.
As the former Superintendent of the Santa Ana Unified School District, Dr. Phillips brings an inclusive, equity-focused vision and extensive education leadership to the CFF team. Her career has included roles as both an Assistant and Deputy Superintendent (Ontario, Chino, Clayton County, GA), a Chief Business Officer (Grant Joint Union), and at the California Department of Finance.
Born and raised in Oakland, CA, Phillips earned her MBA in Finance (UC Davis) and her Doctorate in Education (USC) as she advanced through two decades of public school leadership and district financial stewardship.
